With all of their resistance to stains, fading, scratching, and other sources of wear, Lamton laminate floors require some attention during a weekly cleaning and maintenance program. There are also some simple preventative measures which can be taken to help to preserve the original visual benefits of Lamton laminate flooring:

Doormats placed in high-traffic areas, or by entrances, can reduce the presence of moisture, sand, grit, and other sundry materials that are brought in from outdoors. |

Use colorfast or non-scratch carpeting and pads on the feet of all furniture. |

Avoid wearing heels or athletic spikes on a Lamton laminate flooring surface as this makes scratching the surface more likely |

Use protective felt pads
under furniture legs or wide
castors under appliances levelers. |

Use dollies or protective layers of foam padding or plywood when moving heavy objects across Lamton laminate flooring |

For increased indentation resistance, rearrange furniture occasionally |
|
Do not treat or seal Lamton laminate flooring - the resemblance to real hardwood should not be confused with the real thing! |

Similarly, do not attempt to sand, lacquer, or refinish Lamton laminate flooring. |
